The Victoria P/H in Kingsland Rd , St.Phillips
« on: Tuesday 25 September 18 19:31 BST (UK) »
I know of my family members ( Ryan ) in this pub in both the 1901 and 1911 census .
My understanding is that the site of the pub was on the Feeder side of the Kingsland Road bridge as it approaches Silverthorn Lane ( recollections of an elderly relative whose grandparents ran the pub ) .
Recently I was told that the pub was knocked down at some stage pos . the 60s ?
I've checked Old Maps online to see if shown , but no evidence to suggest if this site was correct .
Any thoughts , past knowledge of the actual site as I am going to visit the area soon to do a little research .

I have checked the Lost Pubs site where there is some info . but not of the actual location .

See top of column 2 - note which streets intersect Kingsland following the Victoria Tavern entry

Hanes Teulu..thanks for such a quick reply .
I will look to try and match your info to a map of / near the year so I can look to place the location .
I remember the area a little from when I lived in Bristol but know there have been great changes in the Dings / St.Phillips district .

Does anyone living in that area know what's on that site now ?
I think there are very few pubs in the area left now .

I know all the heavy industry has gradually gone and that light warehousing units went up when I used to travel through the area .

Thanks again , appreciate your help .

By Googling:

Victoria tavern Kingsland Road, St Philip

The first heading  :

Fox Tavern public house 11 Victoria Road, St Phillip's Marsh, Bristol  (on the Flickr website)

Mentions various pubs including

'
The Victoria' was well known locally as the "Pig" and was situated on the corner of Victoria Terrace and Albert Crescent, right in the centre of the Marsh.

Hi
I know it's a bit early but; the oldmaps 1:500 (a good scale for finding PHs) from 1885 shows a number of them but none are south of the bridge carrying the railway over the road.
However the bridge at the northern end is actually called Kingsland Road Bridge and there are 3 pubs shown between the 2 bridges.
