Elusive Sarah BARNETT - Tenterden
« on: Wednesday 26 September 18 17:37 BST (UK) »
16th August 1807 Sarah BARNETT spinster married John SHARWOOD widower in Tenterden.  They apparently had no children baptised in Tenterden.  I think this might be/am hoping (!) that this is the couple who went to live in Peasmarsh (Sussex).

But I cannot find anything else about Sarah.  Can anyone suggest a baptism, parents, anything before 1807 please?

Hi as no replies, did John & Sarah die in Peasmarsh, if so when.

Hi keyboard86 and Kay99

Thanks for your replies.  I was involved in the earlier thread on the Sussex Board.

John Sharwood died in Peasmarsh in 1833.  He and Sarah had 5 children together (whom I've researched quite thoroughly).

I've been searching for Sarah, John's second wife, for decades.  No baptism, no death, and until now no credible marriage - which is why I'm interested in the Tenterden one, as Tenterden is only about 8 or 9 miles from Peasmarsh.

It's very frustrating that Sarah Barnett is so unknowable, as I was at least hoping to get some sort of handle on her age in order to look more confidently for a death.  Going by the ages of the children Sarah Sharwood must have been born between 1774 and 1792.

Re my previous post - I have found some evidence that suggests Sarah Barnett was in Peasmarsh pre-1807, so will now concentrate my search for her birth/baptism in Sussex.
