Yes, and he was christened in Norwood on 11 April 1841.

Yes, the Pike family were from Ramsbury in Wiltshire and I've been able to trace them back some generations there. It's the Lingard side that's defeated me!

This states that ......
Elizabeth was born in Aldgate in 1819.
She married George William Pike in 1835.
She died in 1838.
She married George William Pike in 1840
After 1861 she vanishes to re-appear simultaneously in Aston, Warwickshire and Margate, Kent in 1891

The tree also states that her father was....
George Wheeler Lingard born 1795.
He was baptised before he was born, in 1793, in Hackney.
He was also baptised in 1821 in Bowden, Cheshire.

So not much help there

I had a similar situation quite a while ago looking for a young mother with a newborn baby in "London".   I eventually found her, despite the awful writing; she was one of three "live-in" domestic maid servants.  There was no mention of the baby because he'd been hidden in a drawer so that the lady of the house didn't know, because if she did find out then she would have dismissed the mother who needed the money and the roof over their heads.
