Medals, where did Arthur LATTER serve?
« on: Friday 28 September 18 11:18 BST (UK) »
I am helping my nephew with this information below, apparently he has a medal with the following on it, I haven't been able to find out more myself so far so I am hoping someone with more experience on armed forces matters might help me

Arthur Latter was born 27th April 1892

Thank you in anticipation

Louisa Maud

He served in the Army Service Corps as a heavy vehicle driver from April 1915 to January 1919.  Overseas service in France from 31 August 1915 to Dec 1916 then to Salonika until September 1918.

More in a mo

You are very fortunate that his army file has survived and is viewable on both Ancestry and FindMyPast

Adding to ShaunJ  -he should have a third medal entitlement that seems to have passed him by.  His overseas service in 1915 should have qualified him for the 1914/1915 Star as well as the two ShaunJ notes.

His discharge papers are on Findmypast and Ancestry which you may be able to get a short term sub to.  ShaunJ beat me to that last info.

Teamwork!

Huge thanks to you both, I have subs to both of these but so far can't find them, must be doing something silly, will check again but this is a huge help, my nephew himself can't do this research as he is registered blind

Huge thank you for the links, can't understand why I can't get them as a fully paid up member to both

Sorted in a short time, amazing.

Happy hunting
