Hannah Healey
« on: Saturday 29 September 18 03:26 BST (UK) »
Trying to establish the origins of Hannah Healey, she was born 1834 in Staffordshire, she appears on the 1841 census in the Cheadle Union Workhouse along with her brother Thomas b 1831 and sister Fanny b 1832. She then appears in 1851 as an unmarried servant to the Linzinnex family at Lower Tean Road, Checkley, Cheadle, Staffs. She marries George James in 1857 and lives happily ever after. i'm trying to identify the parents of the 3 children in the workhouse, I found a potential marriage for Fanny Healey in 1865 to a James Melton in Cheadle, however there are no parental details. There is another potential marriage Fanny Hawley ??? to a James Lovatt in 1855. her age is 5 years difference, (but I'm sure i read that the 1841 census ages were rounded down by up to 5 years) does anyone think that Hawley could be Healey? or should I pursue the James Melton marriage and hope there is something on the marriage cert. So basically I'm looking for any clue to Hannah Healeys parents. - thanks in advance - richard

Nothing on FreeReg, but FamilySearch has a few Hannah HEALEYs.  The only one which seems to be a good match is:

Parents Francis & Ann HEALY/HAILY/HAYLEY.  Baptisms:
Thomas 29 Jan 1830 Hanley, Fanny 27 Jan 1833 Cheadle, Hannah 15 Mar 1835 Cheadle, Mary Ann 8 Apr 1838 Cheadle (bur 15 Apr 1839 Cheadle)

Is this Fanny on the 1861, as Fanny Healey?

This could give a marriage for Francis & Ann 2 miles from Hanley:
31 Dec 1829 Bucknall, Staffs: HALEY Francis to TORR Ann

If this is correct it would mean that sometime between 1830 and 1833 Francis and Ann moved about 45 miles from Hanley to Cheadle.
