Can't see him in 1891. It may be his names been mangled. At marriage Dec. 1891 & 1901 he was living in Manchester Rd. Poplar.
A possible sighting in 1881:
RG11; Piece: 865; Folio: 46; Page: 36
Mother Jane widow.
Jane's mn is Wickham. There's an 1866 marriage in Dartford for her but to an Edward Searles ?
Perhaps wrong family in 1881.

Must be right as living Manchester Rd
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Can't see another Searls/Wickham marriage. Perhaps he was George Edward or vice versa.
There's a death March 1881 Dartford for an Edward Searls aged 36

We need the poster to give us some positive info about more recent family.

I have just shown my friend the results of what you have found and she said that she thought Edwards wife was called Susannah, her Grandmother had 2 sisters known in the family as Pep and Nell. and had 2 brothers Charles and William.
She thinks maybe Pep and Nell could be family nicknames, so not sure of their first names.
She thanks all who have contributed to her search.

The 1891 marriage of Edward Searls & Fanny Stammers gives her middle name as Susannah.
Could this be her?
From Milliepede:
Quote
The Edward and Fanny found by jim1 had children including Ellen - Beatrice - Edward - Dorothy - Elizabeth - William
So Dorothy is from this family.
This is Edward in 1901:
RG13; Piece: 357; Folio: 145; Page: 17
1891 from Milliepede:

Must be right as living Manchester Rd
Also Charles Easter was a witness at Edward & Fanny's marriage.
I'll take another look at the 1881 census as there's some doubt.
1881 has to be right:

The only anomoly is that Edward names his father as George rather than Edward.
Jane remarries to a Thomas Bass in 1891.

my friend as got in touch with a second cousin whose mother is still alive, she told her the names you had found for Dorothy siblings, you are correct with Ellen Beatrice and Elizabeth so she is going to take a trip to Poplar London armed with the information and look at the local record office to see what she can find, and to see if Edwards Father was Edward and not George as she previously thought.
Because she knows Poplar was home to Dorothy.
Once again she thanks you all for your help.

I've searched everywhere & I can't find an Edward Searls (or derivatives) son of George a carpenter.
Edward's sister Annie married in 1895 (siblings Thomas & Louisa were witnesses) & she puts the correct father's name & occupation.
Also there's not a birth registered in Seven Oaks for him either.
I don't think your friend will ever know why he put what he did.

I have told her you could not find a birth for him in Seven Oaks, maybe she will get answers to her puzzle when she takes her trip to Poplar.
