Kidman parents

Trying to find the parents of George Kidman who married Elizabeth Mary ? at Bury St.Edmunds in 1848.

Any information would be very much appreciated.

Why do you say “Elizabeth Mary ?” Her surname is indexed as Nunn on FreeBMD.

Presumably you don’t yet have the marriage certificate which should provide paternal detsils.

Have you found George in any census to identify his place, and approximate date, of birth?  These are obviously relevant in any search for his parents.

I did see the name Nunn on Family Search - but wasn't sure.

Yes, I appreciate the marriage cert will help.

Have just come accross  papers sent to my mother from Australia many years ago. It mentions George and Mary Kidman married 1848 - their first child George, was born in Kelsale, Suffolk in 1850.
They emigrated to Australia the following year - 1851.

I see that they are, and that the family is at 145 Grove St, St Pancras in 1851.  Head of household is George’s widowed mother Sarah Kidman (77 b Westminster) so his maternal side is clear.

George is 33 in 1851, a landed proprietor born in Lambeth.
