Are you saying the 1871 is incorrect?

I’m saying that if the wife on the census is Elizabeth, then the children aren’t of the Shelton/Wilkinson line.

It’s possible the girls were born to a different mother given the age difference between the girls and Albert.

Yes I did have them and this was the reason I thought they were John F's daughters.  But that's an assumption.

It’s the 1871 I was after, before girls’ births.

I don't have him in the 1871 census unfortunately. 

However John F was born at Eaton, Leicestershire and baptised 14 Dec 1845.

A Mary Shelton aged 30 died in Brentford Reg in March Qtr 1875 and in 1877 Brentford there is a marriage John Shelton to Elizabeth Frazier.
