The daughter “Elizabeth”, 9 in 1881, was Mary Elizabeth Richards, mmn Northam, birth reg Mar qtr 1872 Wellington.

Mary Elizabeth married William John Jeffery at St Peter, Bradford on 27 Aug 1892.  Both living at 6 Moray Place, Shipley.  Her father: Thomas Richards (deceased) gas stoker.*  Witnesses are on the Jeffery side.

*I was ??? at Thomas’ stated occupation, but Mary Elizabeth “Jeffreys” has a Wellington, Somerset birthplace per 1901, so she seems to be the right person.

1901: RG13/4182/97/10.

Yes, Charles Henry married Susan Rennard. I did not realise Elizabeth born 1872 in Wellington was actually Mary Elizabeth. Still trying to find out where they went.
cheers

The fact that the surviving children stayed local to Bradford suggests the family didn’t migrate (or emigrate) elsewhere.

There’s a possible death registration for Thomas Richards in Bradford in 1882, but the age of 38 is a few years out.  Does Florence’s 1883 death registration give any clues?  A child’s death certificate should give her father’s name and occupation, so might indicate whether Thomas was still alive or not.

I wondered if the 1882death record for Thomas could be the right one. I will look into the death certificate for Florence. Thanks for the info on Mary Elizabeth and her marriage. It gives me something else to work with.
Thanks for all the help
