Wow! What can I say? Thanks to everyone for the information, and so quick too.
The addresses in the UK mean something to me.
I don't know when S G Waldron returned to the UK, or when he joined the Army. Not much WW1 records available, I'm afraid. Fortunately he survived.
I have a contact who can ask S G W's last surviving son (aged 98), if he remembers anything about his father's early life.
Many thanks.

Thanks Sandra,
I've seen that one. He's not my man. They are different parents.
Thanks anyway.

Hi Sandra,
Birth date was March 25 1890. Parents were Richard and Frances.
I have no problem with Sydney and his family once he was back in this country.
I would love to know how long he was in Canada and when did he return to the UK.  :)
Regards.

Unfortunately there is a shortage of UK return passenger lists - ancestry covers 1878 - 1960 but nothing shows for your man.
