WW2 SERVICE RECORDS
« on: Friday 05 October 18 12:00 BST (UK) »
Can anyone suggest how I can get access to the war service records of South African servicemen who went to North Africa in WW2? I did notice a post referring to the SANDF a while back but the phone number in South Africa did not work. Any updates on that? Thanks in anticipation.

Greetings, and a warm welcome to Rootschat

Did you mean this thread: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=426984.0 ?

A quick g00gle search leads to
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/soldiers-african-forces-under-british-control/
http://www.national.archives.gov.za/

which may or may not help  ???

If you post the details of the person you are looking for, we might be able to help find where the records are.
