Sarah Daffern
« on: Sunday 07 October 18 13:11 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find the details of the parents of Sarah Daffern.

Sarah married John Lord in Hinckley in 1812. Husband John dies in 1835 in Hinckley aged 52.

In 1841 Sarah is in Hinckley and born in county - her age placed at 60.  In 1848 Sarah dies and is buried in Hinckley, aged 64, so born abt 1783/4.

Unfortunately I cannot find any details of her parents.  Can anybody help?

Thanks

TB

It could be the right Sarah with flexibility on the age  ::)

Did Sarah and John have any children? If they did, that might help to rule out an older Sarah.

Hi

Sarah and John had 6 Children between 1812 and 1829.

That might make the Sarah born in 1772 a little old, perhaps, to be my Sarah?

Thanks all for your thoughts and contribution - I really appreciate another pair of eyes on this matter.

Regards

TB

It might be worth considering Sarah Dafforn/Dafforne, daughter of William and Isabella, baptised in Mancetter on 8th May 1785. He was probably William Duffin who married Isabella Smith in Mancetter on 5th November 1768.

Mancetter to Hinckley approx 8 miles.

Several children:-
Ann Dofforn/Doffern 1772
William Dafforn 1776
Mary Dafton 1777
Thomas Dafforne 1780
Sarah Dafforn 1785

William married again to Sarah Everitt in 1790 - both widowed. Isabella buried on 11th October 1789 in Mancetter.
