Are you certain he was buried - not cremated?

He married in England in 1945 and had 2 children in England and possibly more in Scotland if they then moved to Dumfries - are they still alive as they would know whether he was buried or cremated?

There is a marriage in Dumfries on SP for the English born daughter and his wife died in Dumfries in 2003

In the past, I've found Dumfries & Galloway Council very helpful for burial/lair information of ancestors:

It might be worth contacting them.

Hello
and thank you for the replies, my theory was that with such a unique christian name some one might recognize him , I am aware of his Marriage, and his Children's Births , and Marriages, and death of his wife Joan in 2003.
So Gadget took you'r advice and sent off an Email ,they replied with a Ref, Number.
Cheers

Hi, if you know the exact date of death it would be possible to check the local newspaper for a funeral announcement. D & G Council want to know the cemetery before they are prepared to make a search.

Hello
yes, I received that request yesterday from Customer Services at Ewart Library, no I don't have the  exact date, so I will check this and a few other items on my next visit to Scotlandspeople at the Mitchell Library, thank you to all for your help.
