Is there anyone also researching the Aston Family Tree?
My Dad's Great Grandad, John Raybould (Baptised: 13 Sept 1846 - ?) married Mary Aston (christened on 8 November 1847 - ?) Not sure when she died but she was around for her grandaughter Elizabeth "Lizzie" Raybould's marriage to Lawson Hamblett on 20 June 1915 at Primehoe Methodist Chapel, Love Lane, Stourbridge. We have a photo of members of the Raybould family at the wedding.
John and Mary's children: -
Thomas "Tom" Raybould (1867 - 1946)
Honor Elizabeth Raybould (11 Dec 1872 - 30 April 1949)
Martha Raybould (1875 - 1 Dec 1949 at 7, Stour Hill, Quarry Bank)
Clara Jane Raybould (8 July 1877 - 17 July 1941)
Arthur Joseph/Joseph Arthur (13 October 1880 - 18 Feb 1958) He was born Joseph Arthur but was known as Arthur (Grandad to my Dad).
Elizabeth Mabel Raybould (1882 - 28 August 1955 at Queensland, Australia)
Alice Raybould (1885 - ?)
Benjamin Joseph Raybould (1887 - 3 Aug 1930 in a mining accident at Homer Hill Colliery, Halesowen)
I have been researching ancestors of Mary Aston whose family were connected to Aston's Fold, Hay Green, Lye and finding census records, etc., hopefully on the right track, have come up with her parents as: -
Zachariah Aston (Bapt: 14 May 1815 - 1849) married Elizabeth "Betsy" Cartwright (Bapt: 31 July 1814 - 1866)
Their marriage took place at Kinfayre (Kinver), Staffordshire on 18 March 1838 and their children are: -
John Aston (Bapt: 27 Dec 1840 - ?) Did he die during 1913?
Joseph Aston (Bapt: 15 Jan 1843 - 1913) married Mary Travis/Trevis?
Richard Aston (Bapt: 24 Nov 1846 - 1928) married Jane Maria Bashford
Mary Aston (Bapt: 8 Nov 1847 - ?) married John Raybould
Martha (Bapt: 17 Aug 1850 - ?)
Now for the hard part in finding the correct John Aston (1796 - ?) and Mary (how do I find out her surname?) (1796 - ?) as parents for Zachariah and I have come up with this John Aston, christened on 6 July 1794, son of Zachary and Ann purely because they're still in Oldswinford area but from 1841 census record, John Aston should have been born around 1796?
I feel that the clue in finding correct members of the family lies with the FHL film numbers, which I don't have access to from my home computer as it says I have to access this via the library or a family tree centre but our local library no longer has the microfiche facility?
As all this research is what I've done via Ancestry.com and Family Research, I'm hoping I have the correct parents and grandparents of Mary Aston (christened on 8 November 1847 - ?)?
Hoping someone on here will be able to confirm these records or advise me how to access the FHL film numbers or another way of finding hard to find sources?
