Click Scanner   IF it shows  or are you using a Printer/Scanner ??   then click Printer   and run the troubleshooter!

Obviously the Printer will need to be on when trying it.... ;D

I am now able to scan, though not via the Paint program option, as techie son could not work out why it would come active.  He has given me access via an Epson option, and I am happy with that.
