Anyway in June 1931, William re-married. His new wife was possibly a relative by marriage, as she was called Annie BELLENGER

William Albert Bellinger and Anne (later Annie) Bellinger were together at 24 Letchworth Street SW17 by at least 1918 (electoral registers)
From circa 1924 a Frederick Bellinger is also listed at number 24, and he is still listed there after William and Annie are not (along with a Dora Bellinger)

His new wife was possibly a relative

Maybe William Albert was the father of some of those children of hers!

Frederick Bellenger was his stepson from his first wife's marriage to Frederick HEWITT.

Frederick Bellenger was his stepson from his first wife's marriage to Frederick HEWITT.

He'd be a Hewitt then.
Frederick and Dora have moved by 1939, electoral register has them at 60 Lintaine Grove, Fulham. Dora as Doria.
Free index to 1939 register has Frederick Bellinger born 1899 (looks like it might be in February) and Dora was born 1914.

Frederick is living with William Albert and his first wife Annie Jane at 33 Grotton Road in 1901 [RG13 485 70 17].

I think they are two different Fredericks. There is also a 25 plus years difference in age!

Oops! I'm getting very confused. Too many Annie's and too may Fredericks.

1) When and where was Annie Jane born? (Berkshire looks favourite - buit it's a long way from Merthyr Tydfil)
2) What happened to Frederick HEWITT?
3) Where was Annie Jane on the 1881 census (and earlier censuses)?

There's a few people from Kintbury in the Merthyr /Aberdare area on 1871 (although some badly transcribe the placename)  Most seem to be called Pontin  or have Pontin relatives staying with them

I have now received a birth certificate for Jane COLBOURN, born 12 Jul 1841 at Kintbury, Hungerford. Her father was John COLBOURN, a labourer. Her mother was Sarah COLBOURN, formerly HARRISON. I think this must be the Annie Jane COLBOURN-HEWITT, who married William Albert BELLENGER.

I would like to refresh this old thread as I am still a long way from solving the problems outlined above.

William Albert BELLENGER married Annie HEWITT (née Colbourn) in 1881 at Wandsworth. She appears to die in 1912. I think the above thread has more or less solved the problems with regard to her.

However, in 1931 William marries another Annie, who he appears to have been living with since at least 1918.

On the 1931 marriage certificate, this Annie is called Annie Bellenger, a widow aged 66, whose father was William Munday (dcd). Both William and Annie were still living at 24 Letchworth Road, Tooting, where they had been living in 1918.

The problem is that I can still find no record of Annie Bellenger/Munday before 1918. Nor can I find a previous Munday-Bellenger wedding.

I would really appreciate it if someone could unravel Annie Bellenger/Munday's life story.
