4 Bloom St, Salford
« on: Friday 12 October 18 08:19 BST (UK) »
I've found Bloom st, Salford on the map. But where was number 4?  The Deamhouse Apartments is number 2, the Oriental Express take away is 2A and the Salford Corporation Model Lodging House is number 6; so what happened to number 4? At the other end of the street the pub, Kings Arms, on the other side is number 11.
According to his death certificate my Uncle Albert was living at 4, Bloom St when he died in 1974.
Some of these buildings have been built since 1974 so perhaps number 4 has been demolished or have the buildings been re-numbered?
I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks, Yvonne

According to this map 4 Bloom Street looks to have been Salford House. You can see No.2 and No. 6 marked on each side.
Change the zoom with the - + in the top left corner

Thanks Stan. Your first reply didn't include the web address of the map. Thanks again Yvonne

Thanks Stan, Number 6 looks like it might be where the manager of the lodging house lives. Do you know if there are any photo's of the inside before the renovations? Yvonne

The only photographs I can find are for Common Lodging Houses at http://www.workhouses.org.uk/lodging/ but none for Bloom Street.
