Thank you Alison300 for starting this link about Robert Charles Lupton. He was an ancestor of mine and it's good to know a bit more about him.

Hi Eleanor,

I'm researching all men of the HAC who died during WW1.  Unfortunately Robert's service record has not survived and his MIC and the medal roll do not say when he enlisted or when he first served overseas.  Do you have details on him?  Soldiers Died says he that enlisted in "London EC" so I was wondering if he was working in London at the time?

Apologies for not replying earlier. Unfortunately I do not have any more information. I have the WW1 Death Plaque for Robert Charles Lupton which was why I was so interested in these posts. This is one of the occasions where I wish I had asked more questions of my grandmother when she was alive. Sorry I could not be of more help.
