Help locating Census record, etc.

I'm trying to locate the census record and marriage records mentioned in this note found on familysearch.org regarding Rachel Thomas (27HS-GJL):

"In the 1871 Census of Llandissilio, she was found living with her daughter Elizabeth who was married to Daniel Lewis and granddaughter Sarah Lewis. She was age 78 at her death. She died of Rheumatic Fever and son in law, Daniel was present at her death. Her name was listed as Rebecca on the marriage record, but was Rachel in the Marriage index and in other records searched."\

Specifically, I'm trying to locate basic information about Sarah Lewis, and anything about Rachel's parents.

Well I think I have found the right family in 1871, living at Evelwen, Llandissilio, Narberth, Carmarthenshire & Pembrokeshire, Wales

Rachel's surname is given as David.

Hmmm, having looked at the image Rachel appears to be unmarried and listed as a lodger.

Wonder how accurate that information is that you found on Family Search

Okay, try the following:-

Go to the 1871 census, enter the name Daniel Lewis, birth year 1829 in the relevant boxes.

Then find the Registration District box and enter Narberth.

Hit the enter button and it should come up for you.  You may have to hit another button to see the full transcription details.

I think the below is the parent's marriage:-

Marriages Dec 1859   
Davies    Elizabeth        Narberth    11a   1079    
Lewis    Daniel        Narberth    11a   1079

And this is probably Sarah's birth registration:-

LEWIS, SARAH       DAVIES     
GRO Reference: 1860  D Quarter in NARBERTH  Volume 11A  Page 606

The above was found on the GRO website - https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp

The GRO now provide mother's maiden names for births from 1837 to 1917.

Having found the Family Search record I can now understand the surname David.  Rachel married a Daniel David, Thomas is her maiden name.

I've got other things I need to do, I'll come back to this later on.

I've found Rachel's marriage to Daniel:-

Married on 2 November 1821 at Llandissilio.  Rachel's residence was also Llandissilio so hopefully that is also her birthplace.

Marriages this early don't give parents names.

Thomas of course is a common surname so may be difficult to find a baptism for her.

Wow, you are amazing and wonderfully helpful. Thank you so much! I did get into my ancestry account and was able to pull up the 1871 census showing Rachel David with Daniel and Elizabeth with daughter Sarah.  Perhaps listed as unmarried as her husband died in 1842 (hence living with her daughter and son-in-law in her final years). 

So it sounds like to find who Rachel's parents were might be difficult.  I guess I could search for Rachel Thomas christenings or something in the neighborhood?
