Nicol Smith Burial Record
« on: Monday 15 October 18 22:26 BST (UK) »
Nicol died in Kilmarnock in 1905, but lived in Darvel.  His wife had died just a few months before him.  I had a wander around Darvel Old Cemetery today trying to find his grave, without success.  The inscriptions for Darvel New are incomplete, but I never saw any record there.  Anyone have any ideas where I might establish where he is buried - i.e. where the plot records might be retained?

Hi,
What was his wife's name and where was she born?

If Nicol's wife died first she obviously would be buried first. He would most likely be buried in same lair as her.

Looby :)

Thansk for your replies folks.  His Wife, Annie, actually died just 10 days before him.  I am still on the case, but havent come up with the details of his burial other than a newspaper report suggested he was buried in the old church cemetery, which would appear to rule out the Darvel New, although I know burials were taking place there at that time.
