Finding birth date from mi
« on: Tuesday 16 October 18 08:56 BST (UK) »
Hello, I posted a topic how to find birth date and got it totally wrong in spite of the answers I received, hands up I got it wrong. I did put on that I had the birth cert of William Moore I sent off for it so wasn't in the family to begin with the only evidence I have is a grave with mi William Moore d.14th Feb 1946 aged 89 I've looked at 1857 have possibilities  of him being born guiltcross, members of family seem to think he was born winfarthing so could be correct Annette 7 suggested a connection with garrods I think so as a Salome was an aunt or? Any assistance would be great this is not my tree it's my wife's and a cousin in the states just pulling her hair out.

I think this may be the thread that you started that already has replies about the problem.

yes I have read all of that, and gone through it, unfortunately it doesn't tie up with the William I am looking for so I am now looking for William b.1857 and in the depwade district as his family of 10 children were all from there

So, let me see if I've got this right  :-\

From the other thread, the William Moore who married Eliza Francis is NOT the right William Moore.

The 1939 William Moore, said to be born 14 November 1856 is the CORRECT William Moore (retired Farm Labourer).

You say that William has a family of 10 children - could we have a name for one of them (assuming that that person is no longer with us).  I ask this so that we can find a birth registration for that child, and from there a marriage, which will help us back-track to a birth.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

ok well I really don't think the 1939 William is correct as his occupation certainly when he was younger was a railway plate layer, this dosnt mean he didn't work as a farm labourer later on, but I cant see how he was born 1856! one of his children is annie e moore b.1882 d.1961 she was born in moulton
