James Thomas Moore
« on: Tuesday 16 October 18 09:43 BST (UK) »
My grandfather, James Thomas Moore, served in the Royal Navy from 1884 to 1919 when he was 'demobbed'.  From the research point of view he has disappeared.  His records of service show that whilst serving he was allowed to draw his pension.  Does anyone know the workings of the pension system vis-à-vis when his pension stopped being paid thus giving some indication of place and date of death.  Thank you.

Can you tell us when and where James was born please?

What other records have you found him on other than his Royal Navy record?

Not sure if you can find records that show when someone's pension stopped due to death.

Was he related to the George Edward Moore mentioned on your other thread?

From the Army (not Navy?) pension records it gives his date of death as 14/5/1923.

So is this him?
