I am finding this difficult ;D ;D
All we know for certain about Joseph is that in 1841 he was in lower bullingham, says he was born in
the county and aged 60-64.
The death in 1844 was aged 73, even allowing for uncertainty this is a big difference.

There is a Joseph and Elizabeth marriage in Little Hereford (actually 30 miles north of Hereford city)
so the births there are to this couple.

There is also a marriage of Joseph Thomas and Elizabeth in St martins in 1793, some births could be theirs.

The marriage in callow is the obvious one, but why there if they both came from lower bullingham.

All questions and no answers, I am afraid.

Mike

That makes sense, as I have just noticed the residence note on the 1841 that they are living at or on Ridge Hill.

Ridge hill is in the civil parish of lower bullingham but is a few miles from the village of lower bullingham,  and very close to callow.

Also in the 1841 in callow on ridge hill is a michall Thomas with wife Ann and two children, one of whom cannot be theirs as he is too young

As I cannot find any children of Michael and Elinor I wonder if this is the same Michael remarried to Ann.

Ridge hill is not a village but just that, a hill, these families must be closely related to Joseph.

Mike,

I also found this Michael Thomas in 1841, and I believed this was a brother of Joseph Thomas.

There is a marriage for Michael Thomas to Ann Morgan on 8th October 1801 in Callow, and I think I found 8 children for them, Samuel Thomas being the illegitimate son of one of their daughters.

This Michael was Baptised 4th February 1776, and died 9th November 1843.

Michael is a recurring name in the Thomas family, and Ellen/Eleanor are daughters for both Michael 1776-1843 and Joseph 1778 - 1844.

There is also a Matthew Thomas who is 85, I wonder if he is related.

In my tree, I have a baptism for Michael Thomas (Husband of Eleanor Griffiths) as 13th October 1745 in St Martins, and have the parents as Joseph Thomas 1709 - 1778 & Mary Phillips 1714 - 1778, but the parents for that Michael based on the baptism transcription, are William & Mary.

I feel all the info I have on the Thomas line is incorrect, or based on information I can't locate anymore.

Somehow I have these children for Michael & Eleanor -

Francis 1773, William 1774, Jane 1775, Michael 1776 - 1843, Joseph 1778 - 1844, Eleanor 1783, Elizabeth 1785, John 1786, Martha 1787, & Mary 1789. No Idea where they came from now, as I can't find records for them.  ??? ???

It may be here

I find it hard to believe they had a child every single year for five years
