Anne Holmes.

Anne Holmes was the daughter of Robert Holmes.  She married Reverend Cuthbert Fetherstonhaugh, son of Cuthbert Fetherstonhaugh and Mary Wolfe.

I think there might be some variation in spelling
This marriage for Frances Ann Fetherstoutt (transcribed as) in 1845.
Her address is Rectory Hacketstown, father Cuthbert is a Clergyman
that said Cuthbert could be husbands father, but I think the line on the original is linking her to the Clergyman.
As both parties have the same surname the point is the spelling

I didn't look at all the 11 marriages for Hacketstown before 1847 but the few I looked at are all signed by Cuthbert Fetherstoutt or a variation of.
He doesn't appear on the 1848 marriages.

Hi,
I saw this from 1834.
Haroldstown

These must be related in some way.
The Susan Curtis I mentioned earlier was mother to another Cuthbert, they were in Germany, back to Ireland and then to Australia.

Revd. Cuthbert Fetherston H 17 Feb 1847
http://census.nationalarchives.ie/search/dw/details.jsp?id=309102

I think the H is what is being transcribed as tt in the parish records

Listed again for probate in 1848

1846 Slater's listed as Featherstone

I think he is   Fetherston Haugh   not   Fetherstonhaugh

Greetings and thank you so for your various postings to my enquiry...

My information is as follows :-

William Fetherstonhaugh of Grouse Lodge (born 30 July 1813 - one of 28 children, 17 grew to adulthood) died 13 July 1887 at his residence in Fergusson Street, Williamstown, Victoria, Australia - his parents were Theobald Fetherstonhaugh from County Westmeath and Mary Fetherstonhaugh (nee Harding) from County Galway.

Frances Ann Fetherstonhaugh's parents were the Reverend Cuthbert Fetherstonhaugh, Reverend of Hacketstown (Diocese of Leighlin) and Anna Fetherstonhaugh (nee Holmes)...

Frances Ann Fetherstonhaugh and William Fetherstonhaugh were first cousins - this circumstance where First Cousins married was not unique in the 'Landed Gentry' Festherstonhaugh Family from my research...

Best Regards
