Missing Kate
« on: Saturday 20 October 18 15:00 BST (UK) »
Hi there

Could some kind soul spend a little time trying to find my great-grandmother??
Her name is Kate Welch/Welsh/ Jones. She was born Jan 1877 in Rugeley Staffs. On her birth
certificate it says her mother was Catherine Jones nee Welch and her father was George Jones.
She marries a John Henry Turner in 1895 in Hanley, Staffs but states on the marriage cert
that her father was Edward, deceased, and she uses the name Welch. I have her on the 1901, 1911,
census but I cannot find any info leading up to her marriage for her or her family.
I hope some one has better luck than me.

regards Ian

What address was given for the 1877 birth and occupation for father?

Why pick this particular gal, given the father's name mismatch?
and also, what names witness the marriage?
what address did she wed from?

Hi everyone

Thanks for your efforts. Kates full birth date is 25 Jan 1877.
On the marriage cert it says she was living at 51 William St, Hanley, and John Henry
Turner was at 37 William St.
Kates father on the cert is Edward Welsh (deceased) a Potters Placer. The witnesses
are both named Hodges, so no clues there.
The Borriston, William and Lily are in the Turner family, I have them, its pre marriage
I have been struggling with.

Hi Jools, looks like you might be on to something with your 1881, 1891 census finds.
