Hello, I am just wondering if anyone might be able to help me find the location of scoile Fairce in or around the Doneraile area from 1946 ?
My father Patrick Mannix went there and I would like to try and find its location, and perhaps even find some old photos of it.
This is his certificate which has the school name on it, but I haven't been able to locate the school it refers to.
Thanks very much

May be of interest.  Link from Fairce school folklore collection.

That's great to see and very interesting. The Daniel Mannix mentioned in that piece might possibly be Patrick's father, and my grandfather.  Though I thought he had died in 1956 and the date mentioned is 1988 so perhaps not. But perhaps another branch of the family.

Here is a photo I have of Patrick from the 1950s, he is the one on the right. He passed away in 2001 so I never got to meet him.

That's great. Thanks very much for sending that on. Yes, that makes sense.
Here is another picture I have of Patrick when he was young, just in case anyone recognises him.
I visited the area they lived in this summer and next summer I hope to go back to find the location of the school.
