Rational Association Friendly Society

Does any one know anything about this Association ..such as who could be a member, how much did they have to pay, how wide spread were the branches set up?
I know from a funeral report that an ex policeman became chairman of the Cowley,Devon branch between 1910 and 1938

Originally called "The Rational Sick and Burial Association", at it's 10th conference in Swansea in 1898 it changed it's name to "The Rational Friendly Society". These conferences were held every 5 years.

In 1898 there were 808 branches and 103,641 members - the worth of the association was £325, 441 13s 1d.
