Lamberton toll and Irregular Border marriages.

Hi, I am looking for a marriage of William Turnbull and Mary Reidpath (Redpath) sometime prior to 1841. He was in the army and was born Northumberland and she was born Fishwick Berwickshire in 1776. It was her second marriage. Any help arppreciated. Retire

Unfortunately I could not see it in either of the booklets of irregular marriages published by NDFHS. Records survive for only a very small proportion of irregular Border marriages - assuming any record was made in the first place.

Where are they in 1841? I am guessing you have already checked scotlandspeople and FreeBMD and FreeReg and familysearch.org? Was “Redpath” Mary’s maiden name or her first married name?

In 1841 they were in Berwick upon Tweed. Reidpath was her maiden name and the surname of her 1st husband was Wylie. Can you check if it is under the name Wylie. Thanks so much.

I checked all Turnbull entries first time around and was aware Mary might have another name but no luck sorry.
