Hi all,

Just received an email advising that "The Attorney-General's Department is progressing a review of the approved forms made under the Marriage Act 1961 and Marriage Regulations 2017." https://www.ag.gov.au/Consultations/Pages/review-marriage-forms-noim.aspx

Apparently the proposed new form "does NOT INCLUDE provision for parents names, occupation, NOR current address of the Bride and Groom."

As my emailer stated, this is vital information for us (family researchers) and so I would encourage all family historians to submit their displeasure at this proposed change either via above link or direct to marriagecelebrantssection@ag.gov.au

SUBMISSIONS CLOSE this Sunday 28 October 2018.

Christine.
