finan brothers

i am looking to find out information on two finan brothers Thomas and john. Thomas was born in 1883 and died on the 27/8/1914 age 31in france and john was born in 1890 and died on the 29/11/1916 age 26. there mother was mary finan of 16 king street Keighley. Thomas was in the 2 battalion of the royal munster fusiliers and john was in the 8th battalion of duke of wellington regiment.thomas service number 7896 and john service number is 11121. i am wondering is there any member done research on these two men and where there parents and grandparents from . where they born in ireland

Just in case u you haven't found it yet.  If you go to the bottom of any RootsChat page in the brown section under Your Tools you will find a section called "Surname Interests" - this is where you can add your surname of interest and check if others have a listing.  Always a useful link to check for people with same interests.

Mary Finan   52 born Ireland
Michael Finan   17 Iron Core Maker.
Ellen Finan   15 Worsted Spinner.
John A Finan   12 Worsted Doffer.
Winifred Finan   10

You will have noticed that May should be Mary on the 1911 & place of birth was written as Kilmaty. Ireland - someone has over written in pen Sligo. (not heard of Kilmaty myself  ??? )

In 1911 Mary's place of birth is shown as  Kilmaty, Co Sligo, and John's as Keighley.

GRO Index gives 3 John Finan births registered 1889-1891, all in Lancashire

Could be transcribed as Finen in 1881 - on ancestry.

Mary Finen   32 born Ireland
Margaret Finen   12 born Ireland
Catharine Finen   8 born Ireland
Patrick Finen   4 born keighley

J.T. Finen    born keighley  (there is also a death for a John Thomas Finan Q2 - 1883 Keighley  ???)

Wondering why this has been posted in Lancashire when Keighley is in Yorkshire?

Can find no details of a son Thomas, nor can I find WW1 death details for him matching what has been posted.

For other helping, the elder brother was named Michael, not Thomas!
