My point is that it may have been a v.small handful of "estate" buildings mainly for "staff".     
( of which nowadays not much is left )

Good job it is not our job to (dis)prove, we have just provided some reasonable possible answer to the question.

Thank you all for your help.

Low Haddenham is a possibility, I will look into it, but think it unlikely if it was just a single dwelling house.

Just wish our ancestors could have been more accurate/specific with their ages and birthplaces.

I have Clarke's from Haddenham Bucks on my tree but the furthest I go back is Solomon Clarke born c 1800 who married Sophia Small.   Have not really looked for early Clarke's because I am descended from Sophia's ancestor.  The later Clarke's are on my tree as part of my search for DNA links.

If I find anything I will let you know.
