Parents of Elizabeth SWINGLEHURST

Hi

I am trying to trace the parents of Elizabeth SWINGLEHURST who was bapt 1730 in Slaidburn.  She had a brother Johannes who was bapt 1724.

Father was written down as Thomas SWINGLEHURST - no mother.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is this marriage in Giggleswick which is about 12 miles from Slaidburn.

Thomas Swinglehurst  married  Jane Settle.  04 May 1727. St Alkelda, Giggleswick.
Grooms abode,    Gisburn.

 Thomas Swinglehurst baptisms at Downham 1688 and Preston 1690.
Swinglehursts in Chipping, Whitewell, Tathom, Clitheroe, Mitton . (LANOPC)

I've found Swinglehurst confused with Swindlehurst - just in case, don't forget to check that name as well.
Threlfall (Southport), Isherwood (lancs & Canada), Newbould + Topliss(Derby), Keating & Cummins (Ireland + lancs), Fisher, Strong& Casson (all Cumberland) & Downie & Bowie, Linlithgow area Scotland . Also interested in Leigh& Burrows,(Lancashire) Griffiths (Shropshire & lancs), Leaver (Lancs/Yorks) & Anderson(Cumberland and very elusive)

Was your Elizabeth the same who married John Beaumont 1751? Her abode was Sykes according to this Swindlehurst website.

A Thomas, abode Sykes, married Ann Dewhurst of Chipping 1751.
There may be marriage bonds for these.

A Thomas of Halstead was father of Rosamond, baptised at Slaidburn 1741. Another Rosamond, daughter of a Thomas, was baptised at Slaidburn 1746. Alice, daughter of Mary of Sykes was also baptised 1746 at Slaidburn.

Among baptisms on Swindlehurst website are Joannes (John) 1732 and Thomas 1733 at Gisburn, father Thomas. A Thomas Swinlehurst married Ellen Allston at Gisburn 1732.

Yes my Elizabeth is the one who married John BEAUMONT

And that Thomas looks promising.  The other Thomas who married Jane Settle isn't the right Thomas for her so this other Thomas is much more likely.

thanks everyone for the help and yeah the last name seems to change quite a bit which doesn't help.

I've just noticed I made 2 mistakes for baptisms of John and Thomas in my previous post which I've corrected. Their baptisms were at Gisburn not Slaidburn. Thomas was baptised in 1733.
There were 2 John Swinglehurst baptisms at Gisburn in 1732, Feb. & Oct.

The website also has some baptisms in Dublin.
