Betty BURT c1791 Dunfermline
« on: Friday 26 October 18 13:49 BST (UK) »
Afternoon Rootschatters,

I know there are a lot of threads on the BURT family from Dunfermline.   I can't find one that my Betty Elizabeth BURT who married Thomas MILLER in 1814 belongs to.

Any help would be much appreciated...

Thanks ???

What kind of info?  Can you be more specific and also tell us what you already have so we don’t duplicate

Hi CaroleW,

I don't have much more info to add.  I'm trying to find out who Betty's parents are.  The children of the couple were, Susan 1814, Isabella 1816, Ann 1818, Margaret 1820, James 1822, Helen 1824, Elizabeth 1826 and another Helen 1827.  They were all born in Fife.  I have the 1841 census and they are living in Parnook/Parneuk.  Thomas was a miner and worked at Elgin colliery.  Ann married George Hunter and Helen married Robert Bald Hunter.  That's it..

When and where did Betty die?  If she died from 1855 onwards her parents names should be on her death cert.

To add to Carole's question, what was her approx. YoB from 1841 census & was she born Fife i.e. was she born in County?

From the names of children, you would think mother should be Susan if naming pattern was used but not enough boys to speculate father's name.

Hi,

Yes I thought the naming patterns would be useful and I found a James Miller who married a Susan Angus and think they may be the parents but can't find anything to confirm this :-[  Thanks to everyone who has looked them up  :)
