Very confusing
are you looking for an Unknown Sinnott, a shoemaker in Wexford
who had a son John or James born in 1944?

Apologies, I'm new to this. I'm looking for either something on John or James born in 1944, Wexford or (and) his Father - 'unknown' Sinnott a shoemaker in Wexford.

The latest available census is 1911 which can be searched here-
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Scanned images of births (1864-1916) are online here-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

Both sites are free. However, your grandfather could have been born after 1911 or even 1916 so it may not be easy to find details online.

Just remember that we aren't allowed to post details of anyone who might still be living- which could include your father or even grandfather based on the information in your first post.

Ah! Thank you so much! All has suddenly become very much clearer! That's so kind of you. In light of what you've explained it would be the Grandfather Sinnott (deceased) who was a shoemaker in Wexford who I need to research. Thank you very much Aghadowey.  ;D

Actually from what I've just been told, it would only be my late Grandfather I need to research.

I had a look at male Sinnott marriages in all the Wexford Reg Districts from 1930 to 1944, none were shoemakers or similar, two didn't have images to check.

Wow! That's very nice of you, thank you! What would be the significance of the two records that didn't have images? Would that mean the occupation of the groom couldn't be seen? ( Sorry to bombard you). Thank you again.

All that means is that Images aren't online yet!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I only checked 14 years, a woman could have children longer than that so it might be worth looking a few years earlier.
If the bride wasn't from one of those districts than the marriage could be just about any where in the country.

mmm.... quite a task it seems. You've been incredibly helpful and it's very much appreciated Sinann. Thank you
