In 1910 Luke and Mary Ann recorded as Married for 31 years.
The 1910 census indicates that it was a second marriage for Luke and first marriage for Mary Ann.

To add to the confusion. Here's what i'm seeing.
I think he immigrated to America then went back to England for a spell and then returned to the US then went back to England and finally returned to the US in 1879.
I think the Ann Hughes he married in 1874 and the Mary Ann in later censuses are different people, as records will indicate.
The Naturalization record for Luke states he 1st arrived in 1867. The two children in the 1880 census were born in England abt 1868 & 1871. He married Miss Ann Hughes in 1874. I think sometime after that he went back to England ( I think his 1st wife Sarah Jane Gardner may have died) and returns in 1879 with the two children. Luke and Ann Hughes get divorced (willful absence) in 1879. Luke then gets married to the Mary Ann who appears after that.
Here is a passenger ship record with Luke and the two children from the 1880 census arriving in 1879

Below is clipping about the divorce being granted in 1879. In 1880 census he was living in Ridgeville, this has to be him.

Can any records be found of Luke arriving back in England during this time frame (1868-1879) or leaving England (especially in 1879 with the 2 kids) during this time frame?
