Difficulty interpreting what we're reading in a Latin marriage entry

Most of the text is easy to read and comprehend, but I'm having difficulty interpreting the words in parentheses.
The first is at the end of the section "in Matrimonium conjunxi Bryan Rooney (Bernardam)" ???
The second is at the end of the section "filium Bryan Rooney (Berndardi)" ???
I don't know if I am transcribing them correctly, and if I am then I don't understand what they mean.
Any help gratefully accepted.

With no doubt some errors, but essentially...
I Thomas Waring, joined in marriage Bryan Rooney of 1/19 St Anne's Buildings son of Bryan Rooney, and Elizabeth Chambers of 1/13 St Anne's Buildings, daughter of Richard Chambers.
Witnesses James Johnson and Mary Anne Johnson (both of 1/13 St. Anne's Buildings).

My problem is with the words in brackets, which I now accept as being Bernardus and Bernardi.
As I understand it, the Latin equivalent for Bryan would be Briannus or Bryannus.
In my family tree I have two brothers, Bryan and Bernard born a few years apart. I am now starting to think they may be one and the same person sometimes called Bernard and other times being recorded as Bryan.
Anyone seen anything like this before?

Yes I think the priest (or a later priest) has latinised "Bryan" (after the original entry was made) as Bernardus in the nominative case: Bernardum in the accusative case and Bernardi in the genitive case.

I think they are interchangeable in Irish records or more importantly Latin church records.
I have two records but the same person which at first were recorded as two different people.
The various endings are just Latin forms of the case used.
