Soldiers wills . WW1.

Hello all,Can anyone tell me how i may get hold of copies of W.W.1 wills for relatives who were killed in action,one relative was in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers the other was in the Royal Artillery would the records for these be in Ireland  for one and England for the other.

I obtained my grandfather's will from https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate and then select Find a soldier's will.

Sorry have no knowledge of Irish records.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Use the website BumbleB quoted, it will be under UK Wills, Ireland was still part of the Uk.

To complement the wills you may wish to see their entries in the Register of Soldiers' Effects on Ancestry (from the National Army Museum) which will show the details of the amounts left and to whom (and some other details besides often)

That is a particularly useful bit of info.  The explanatory notes about the collection are worth a read.  The numbers suggest that one should, in the case of a soldier domiciled in Ireland, look in both that collection and the Gov.uk to be sure.
