Edward Roche & Sons (Edward, Robert, John, Lewis)
« on: Sunday 28 October 18 11:58 GMT (UK) »
Edward Roche and Elizabeth Creech (or Creed) of Cork City. Edward was a master bootmaker on St. Patrick Street.  His son John inherited the business when Edward died in 1847.  John married Mary Anne Scully and had many children.  The family immigrated in pieces between 1868 and 1871.  Perhaps John died in 1870-1 either in Cork or in Boston.  Robert was born in February 1814 in Cork City, married Ellen Coughlan and had three children: Robert (b1855), Maria Teresa (b1858) and Edward (b1865). It appears as they were formally married twice, first in June 1854 at St. Nicholas and again in Feb of 1863 at St. Finbarr's.  Edward and Lewis had a hardware store Roche Brothers on St. Patrick Street and both married late, Lewis to Margaret Leahy and Edward to Mary Nagle.  Edward and Mary had John Joseph in 1879.  Lewis died in 1885 and is buried at St. Josephs.
