Thanks Ladyhawke. I think my problem was using my mobile instead of a PC. I think I've found a daughter. Just got to find her now!

Rosie99 - I have found a possible living daughter, but her name is not Woodchurch. In fact I cannot find any Woodgate connection with Achurch or Woodgate.

As the married surname was Woodgate - presume you have searched WoodGATE births with a mmn Achurch?  There is only one birth.

Think Woodchurch in previous reply is a typo

Cannot understand your problem.

www.freebmd.org.uk

Select births
Input married surname
Input maiden name
Press Find

If you are getting no results then you must be doing something wrong.  I notice you have been given guidance /instructions on how to use freebmd on previous occasions.

You're right Woodchurch was a typo. Naive me thought it was a breakthrough! Now I think I've got my head round it, but still don't understand putting in dates or not putting in dates?

If you don’t know the actual birth year - you can only use a range.  In this case you knew when they married so it follows the birth wasn’t before that date.

However - You don’t have to put a year in - it’s not compulsory and as you will see from my instructions above I didn’t use a year

Freebmd is a very simple and user friendly site and sometimes putting less info yields more results.
