Riseley's Lost Records
« on: Monday 29 October 18 08:56 GMT (UK) »
Many years ago I was told that two volumes of Parish Records for Riseley had been lost. From memory these were late 17th C records - 1670s+.
Does anyone know if these have been found in recent years?
Cheers,
Bob

Apparently there were also chapels for Baptists, Moravians, and Wesleyans too, at Riseley, at some point in history.

Thanks for that. Just to clarify my query:
The missing years for Riseley are 1673-4 and 1678-82, also the BT's for those years.  I know that some old registers have sometimes surfaced after having been lost for decades, so hope the same occurs here.
Any news re these volumes anyone?
Cheers,
Bob

Have you raised this question to Beds Archives Bob, surely they would be first to know ?

Just heard back from Beds Archives and, as expected, not good news. Nothing has been discovered.
