Polish Birth Record/ Certificate 1922

Hi,

I'm trying to find the birth certificate of my grandfather who was born in Lvov, Poland 1922.

I've searched both the Galacia Database and Jewish Gen including all the usual Ancestry.com, Findmypast stuff etc...

Could anyone point me in the right direction to obtain a birth record or certificate? not sure of the village either...

Also I'm a little confused as my Grandfather said he was from Lvov, but from searching wikipedia etc... it says lwow/ lviv so not really 100% exactly.

Lvov is the Polish spelling for the town of Lviv (Львів), which is now in Ukraine. I would imagine it is unlikely that you will find such recent records online.

A quick google search revealed this possibility to order the certificate:

However, it appears that records over 70 years old will have been transferred from the Civil Registry Office to the State Archives.

I would suggest that you contact the State Archives in Lviv.
