The nearest is William, son of William and Ann Arnold, on 17th November 1749 in Rothley, approximately 8 miles away.

Possible marriage of William to Ann Fossit in 1743. One record gives it as Loughborough and one as Leicester, All Saints.

Children of a William and Ann:-
William 1744 Leicester All Saints
Fossit 1745 Leicester All Saints
Ann 1746 Rothley
Sarah 1747 Leicester St Martin
William 1749 Rothley
Ann 1750 Leicester All Saints

They fit for dates but not locations.

Also a William son of Robert in Loughborough (13 miles) in 1746 and William Arnald son of Richard and Catherine in Thurcaston (9 miles) in 1745.

I did originally have the William from Rothley as the most likely for my William but I wasn't too sure because of what was wrote on marriage and the fact that a William Arnold marries an Elizabeth Limbert in Leicester in the same time frame which could be the one from Rothley.

I had the following -
William Arnold bapt 1749 Rothley. Son of -
William Arnold & Ann Faucett.
Marriage 1743 All Saints and Loughborough. I assume one of them has connections to Loughborough area as they move to Rothley to baptise children than back to saints.
I did notice a Sarah Arnold is baptised in Loughborough 1732 and a Mary Arnold is bapt there 1730 but I cant see who the parents were as my FindMyPast sub has run out.
If the father is John it could tie in with the following and link how the William Arnold connects to All Saints and Loughborough.

William Arnold bapt 1723 All Saints, Leicester. Son of -
John Arnold/Arnald & Rebecca Sketchley?
John Arnold marries Rebecca Sketchley in Evington 1716. I think this family baptises in Evington then All Saints then Rothley but not too sure.
I have John as -
John Arnall/Arnald bapt 1692 Rothley. Son of John Arnall/Arnald and Ann Palmer.
Dies 1737 Rothley.

There is a problem with the transcriptions of the marriage in 1743. The one to Ann Fossit in Loughborough is on the same day as the one at Leicester. Looking at the Loughborough image, the register is actually for All Saints, Leicester.

Their son, Fossit, married Sarah Willmore at St Margaret's in Leicester on 20th August 1770. With accomplished handwriting, he signed his name as Fossett Arnold. The witnesses were Ann Holdrich?? and Richard Toon.

When Ann Arnold married John Toon at All Saints on 18th April 1774, the witnesses were Fossett Arnold and Richard Toon.

Presumably, Ann was the sibling of Fossett, born in 1750. Ann Arnold (Arnall) of Rothley was buried there on 28th October 1745, so possibly the same family, although an Ann Arnal (her mother?) was buried in Rothley in 1752. A William Arnold was also buried there in 1757.
