England census dates
« on: Thursday 01 November 18 00:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to ascertain the date of the England census for 1901. All the pages of entries I have seen don't have a date the census was taken. I am trying to nail down where my Grandfather was when he changed his employment and if I had a date for that census I could have a better idea.
Thanks.

Thanks anyway.
Mick.

uk census were taken on sunday night
6 June 1841
30 mar 1851
7 April 1861
2 April 1871
3 April 1881
5 April 1891
31 mar 1901
2 April 1911

so 1 April 1901 is not too far out as the census as taken for who stayed at the address the night of Sunday 31 Mar 1901 - so presumably they would still be there Mon 1 April 1901!!
