Kavanagh/Cavanaugh from Killincoole
« on: Friday 02 November 18 08:57 GMT (UK) »
Dear Roots Chatters,

I'm looking for the baptism please (Roman Catholic) of Thomas Kavanagh/Cavanaugh who was born on 25 December 1845 to Michael and Rose at Killincoole.  Would like to locate baptism and/or any other details about this family.  Regrettably due to failing eye sight unable to read the registers on NLI website.

Kindest regards,
Daniel Ryan.

Is the Parish  Darver??

Thank you both for your replies.  Yes, it is the Parish of Darver and the information was taken from Thomas' US Naturalisation papers.

Kindest regards,
Daniel Ryan.

Daniel,
The registers are very difficult to read and I would imagine that names are omitted for that reason.
Indexes show there is this baptism:
15th June 1838
Mary Cavanagh with parents Michael and Rose (Carroll) residence Reddypenny

It can just about be seen once you know what you are looking at  ;)

This may be your family.

His date of birth may be incorrect, even the year could be wrong, if it's possible to find him he may be somewhere near Christmas but as already said the register is in such poor condition it just may not be possible.
