Hi Margaret
Interesting and only one is in the GRO indexes or FreeReg or FreeBMD!!

All I found were deaths in 1838, 1843, 1844, 1847 and 1851 with ages 79, 69, 4, 33 and 58 respectively.

The 1851 would be perfect except for one thing, he died after the census! But the one in 1847 looks reasonable too, he would have been 20 years old in 1819, the year my William married (Elizabeth was 24) - definitely worth pursuing!

That's the benefit of talking it over with someone else on Rootschat, another viewpoint can often turn up new leads! And re-invigorates research - thank you for your inspiration :) :)

Hi Margaret
I think you must be my lucky charm, I've now found a burial in FindMyPast in All Saints St Ives on 29/1/1847 which is aged 51, so born 1796, which would be perfect.

So looking further I have two baptisms, Bluntisham 1790, Yaxley 1796, A single lodger in Somersham in 1841(1797),  married man in Stilton in 1841(1797), burial St Ives 1847(1796) and burial Stilton 1842(1796).

So would it be possible for you to look up the burial in All Saints St Ives in 1847 please as there now seem to be two variations and it would be nice to know if there are one or two entries?
Helen

Thanks Margaret
That sorts out William's burial query, I wouldn't worry about the burials for Elizabeth as it is quite a common name, but it is strange that all burials do not appear in the GRO index!

It's rather worrying that they don't, I wonder how many more are missing and only appear in Workhouse burials? It might be why I can't find out what happened to some of William and Elizabeth's children!

Indeed they were, and there was also a Mary Ann in the multiple baptism.

I don't suppose there were any Minneys baptised in Godmanchester please?
Mary Minney married William, son of my William Johnson and 1841 census said she was 20 years old
