Na Fianna eireann A company 1st & , 2nd battalion dublin brigade 1916-20
« on: Friday 02 November 18 18:40 GMT (UK) »
I am looking to locate a picture A company  na fianna eireann dublin brigade 1st & 2nd battalion,  from 1916 -20 , my grandfather James was a member, I have  tried military archive,  na fianna eireann sites with no success,  and the national library,  maybe some one out there holds a picture in there own family collection,
They did drilled in skippers alley,  at the back of merchant quay church,
Hopefully someone grandfather or great grandfather was a member of A company, and drilled in skippers alley
James gannon lived in murphys cottages saint Mary's place off Dorset Street dublin, after 1920 he was a member Dublin brigade IRA D, company 2nd battalion.

My Grandfather was O/C of E Coy 1st Battalion Dublin Brigade in 1920's and staff officer of GHQ training staff.
I found some photos in old newspapers through the archives in Pearse Street research library.
https://www.irishnewsarchive.com/
It is a subscription website but if you are in the library you can access for free. Older newspapers are on fiche.
NLI ancestry room computers also have free access to Irishnewsarchive site

mostly I found in the Freemans Journal, Irish Independent and Evening Herald.

Freemans Journal ceased publication in 1924 when it merged with the Irish Independent.

I found some ASU and Dublin Brigade reunion Dinner Photos in 1940's 1950's, 1960's.
I also got my Grandfathers wedding photo in Military uniform from 1922 in FMJ. A photo of him outside North Dublin Union in 1924.
