Isobel GEORGE
« on: Monday 05 November 18 07:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to trace Isobel GEORGE (sometimes known as Elizabeth Isobel George) who was born c1793 in Rothiemay according to the census.

She married John LOW in 1818 in Forgue, Aberdeenshire where their 4 sons were all born.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Many thanks

Freecen have a widow Elspet (form of Elizabeth) George on the 1851 census at Yondertown, Forgue; an annuitant living with her 5 year old grandson John Low.  She appears on the 1861, a widow living with her son George at Forman Croft, Forgue; both entries have her born at Rothiemay.

there's a marriage on FreeReg 18 April 1788 in Rathven for John George of Rothiemay & Jannet Jamison of Nether Clochan in Rathven which could be a match for her parents but needs to be confirmed by viewing death cert on ScotlandsPeople.

No sign of baptism as yet...
