Thanks everyone for the help.

Re the inheritance to George could it be that the other son I have has died or that he is not there son?

I’m not sure how far I will get with the wife as there are so many variants!

Maybe if I can find more on William it might link me to more on his wife. Lest we know she died before 1826 if he was a widower.

William Thompson is my 5 great grandfather.

They has a son George Thompson born on February 22, 1793, to Ruhama Henderson and William Thompson.
George Thompson married Lydia Lumley in Gosforth Northumberland, England, on September 13, 1819, when he was 26 years old.

Hi Lisa, I'm just curious to understand how you have linked the George Thompson who married Lydia Lumley to the George Thompson born to Ruhamma and William?

The marriage pre-dates civil registration, so there's no evidence at all on the parish register of any parental relationships http://www.rootschat.com/links/01mza/  You say George was 26 when he married, but again there is no evidence of age on the parish record  :-\

Not sure about that one. It's a big jump from being a glover in Newcastle to a remote farm some 4 miles outside Rothbury  :-\
