I would be pleased to receive any further information on this gentleman who could be my great uncle.

Yes Maureen the 1939 Register shows his date of birth as 13 JULY 1883 and NOT 13 April 1883 as I had it. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks Jamjar the image of the Statutory Birth for Archibald Waddell Dawson, namely 1883 486/77 Muiravonside, gives his dob as 18(eighteenth) July 1883 at Avonbridge, Muiravonside with parents George Dawson and Janet Waddell.

I wonder if there is any evidence of him  going to the USA / Canada or serving in the Great War?
