Gordon William Chester Toal WO Pilot 113498 Halifax bomber LK923  427 Lion Squadron,
Royal Canadian Airforce  brought down at Manheim Germany still missing.
Son of Thomas and Rhoda Toal Alberta Canada.
Thomas Toal was a farmer and Gordon worked on the farm with his family.
Gordon was my cousin.

James William Chappell is now James William Grantham ,Elizebeth Hill Grantham .Lincolnshire.Mary Jane Morgan 1842 born in Overton Flintshire Wales.Ann Morgan 1831 both wives of William Morgan 1829 Worcester.John Dowley 1858 Wellington Salop.Thomas Tole or Toal Selena Mac Masters born in Scotland but lived in county Down NIreland born about 1790.

Hello.  Recently I have been learning about my family history and I just found out Gordon was my great uncle.  I am a pilot for an airline in Canada and find this very interesting and would love to learn more about what happened.  I have a picture of him at my grandparents wedding when we think he was 20.  If you have found any more info of what happened to him that would be appreciated.

Sadly, that night raid had one of the most losses of the war up to then...

Didn't find much about the night raid other than targeting resources/rail junction. 
Previous recent bombardments would have put some heavy defences into motion.
Losses are listed in number of "aircraft" only.
